You deserve to

love your life

mid-life, chick whip, and what happened at my retreat

Earlier this month, I hosted our She Builds Collective retreat at my studio in California.

I’ve been thinking about how much can happen when women entrepreneurs have three uninterrupted days to step away from the day-to-day and actually hear themselves think.

There’s something powerful about having space to slow down, be witnessed, and look at your business from a wider lens. To ask, what is this next season really asking of me?

We talked about voice, visibility, support, boundaries, expansion, and what it means to be seen in your work without feeling exposed.

So many of the women in the Collective are in a season of showing up more boldly. Sharing their work more clearly. Expanding their networks. Making bigger asks. Creating new products. Collaborating on events. Launching books. Refining offers. Hiring team members.

And also, they’re human and hold a lot. So we talked about business. But we also talked about…

  • taking our kids to the park
  • midlife body changes
  • personal care products we love like magnesium soaks + Chick Whip
  • somatic therapy, weighted blankets, myofascial massages
  • personal assistant referrals
  • and what it looks like to build a business while still tending to our lives

This is the heart of She Builds. Building a business in devotion to leading with love.

During the retreat, we celebrated so many wins.

  • One woman created an additional $10K in monthly recurring revenue from an existing client.
  • One sent a bold ask for a connection to a dream collaborator and got an immediate yes!
  • One is preparing for an upcoming cookbook launch.
  • One is building a beta product on cash flow clarity and offering free templates to our group to give feedback.
  • And 4 women in the Collective are collaborating on an in-person event in San Francisco about AI and human-centered work with a live collaborative mural.

During the retreat, we explored each person’s Expression Pathways, revisited the Anti-Hustle Business Model, and refined their Visionary Action Plans.

We also did deep inner work with Rebecca, our resident life coach, who guided us through powerful exercises. Then we headed out for a self-care field trip on hot tub boats in the bay.

We laughed. We danced to Bad Bunny. We had hot tub heart seats. We created our wishing well moments and named what we wanted to call in next. And released what no longer serves us under the full moon.

Sometimes the next level comes from a spreadsheet. Sometimes it comes from a brave decision made while surrounded by women who believe in your dreams.

Women entrepreneurs deserve support on a strategic level and a soul level. Support that helps you make clearer decisions, trust your intuition, honor your capacity, and remember that you don’t have to build alone.

That’s what I want more women in business to experience. If you’re interested in joining us for our next 3-day retreat in October, you can learn more and apply here.

Unlocking your next level of growth comes from being in a room where your business ideas are taken seriously, and your nervous system is allowed to recalibrate.

That’s why I believe so deeply in gathering.

If you’ve been craving a space to reconnect with yourself, your business, and other women who are building with intention, I’d love to invite you into one of our upcoming gatherings.

Upcoming Events

May 12: Rooted in the Age of AI, Why Human-Centered Work Is Your Competitive Edge

I’ll be attending an event tomorrow, on May 12th from 3:00 – 6:00 PM in San Francisco, and I’d love to invite you as my guest. Several of my clients: CoCreate WorkThe Key PR, and Radici Studios are co-hosting an interactive event on AI, Humanity, and the Future of Work. There will be a panel discussion, a live mural experience, and refreshments.

Along with other amazing leaders, the event includes Dropbox Head of Employee Experience Allison Vendt and bestselling author of Uncompete, Ruchika T. Malhotra.

I’d love for you to join us! Find more details here and register for the event here.

May 15, June 19, or July 17: Sacred Business Circle

Join us at my studio in Lafayette for a 2-hour in-person gathering for women entrepreneurs. You’ll have space to share what you’re building, name what you need, and connect with other business owners. These events are intimate, limited, and they do sell out.

Whether you’re joining us in person in the San Francisco Bay Area soon, or reading this from another part of the world, I hope you remember that you are worthy of support and being seen.

Warm hugs,

P.S. If you’re feeling the nudge to go deeper, here are a few ways to get the support you need this season without letting burnout be the price of success…

  • Explore She Builds Collective if you’re craving a more intimate mastermind experience with in-person retreats,
  • Work with me 1:1 for personalized support and strategy (I currently have one private coaching space open for June), or
  • Start with my book, She Builds (it’s available in audio, too!)
