What are you waiting for?
It’s time to celebrate life, now.
We have something inside of us that we know can help others and yet we create this invisible gatekeeper that holds us back from serving.
We wait for the perfect tagline. We wait for the perfect certification. We wait for the perfect timing.
We believe something has to happen in a certain order in order to move forward. For example, I thought in order to reach a lot of people and make a big difference in the world, I had to be featured in a lot of articles, speak on really big stages and have a published book.
But what I now know is that all of those things came *after* I built a community. At Simple Green Smoothies, I focused on adding as much value as I could, creating meaningful connections, and loving up on people first. This resulted in reaching over 1 million people online through our emails, Instagram and Facebook.
Do you ever catch yourself watching, wishing and waiting to press play on a dream or idea that’s been brewing in your heart?
What I’ve noticed with many of my clients is they already have success in business, but they have this secret heart project that they want to bring to the world.
In this episode, I get cozy with Lynnette Abbott where we talk about trust, taking steps blindly and making decisions from love, not fear.
Celebrating Life, Now
“I didn’t get where I am today in my life by making decisions based on fear.”
– LYNNETTE ABBOTT
Lynnette Abbott is the founder and designer of Craft My Occasion, a company that creates party supplies celebrating children of color.
What started as a party planning company, turned into a purpose-driven company when Lynnette discovered that there was a huge disparity in the amount and variety of party supplies that feature characters of colors. As a creative, Lynnette was compelled to create more diversity for the party planning industry.
Craft My Occasion’s party supplies raised more than $21,000 and was named a “Project We Love” by Kickstarter. The party supplies have also been featured in The Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, Parents, Black Enterprise, and POPSUGAR.
