You deserve to

love your life

How to start the next chapter of your life

I just returned from a couple’s getaway to celebrate 15 years of marriage with my husband in Lake Tahoe. Our anniversary was July 3, but with everything that’s going on in the world, this was the first time we took a moment to slow down, catch our breath, and celebrate our commitment to one another.

It was the perfect thing to do after what seemed like the longest Tuesday ever. We spent hours in the hot tub each day looking at the snow capped trees. We talked for hours, we laughed, we played Scrabble. We also ate cinnamon rolls + drank hot chocolate.

With all of the uncertainty of what the future holds, our time together was magical, restorative, and our way of appreciating each other as we transition into the next chapter of our lives. We all need a sacred reset before we step back into the arena.

Now, I need your help! My husband and I will be recording our first conversation together on the podcast very soon to talk about how we've been navigating our work in the world as entrepreneurs, creatives and parents. So if you have any questions or things you’d like us to talk about, email us, and we may include it when we record. Now, for this week's episode…

Have you ever found yourself feeling like everything looks the same on the outside,

but everything on the inside of you has changed? If you’ve found yourself checking out of your life in unexplained ways and not able to fully name it, then episode 177 of the Lead with Love podcast is for you.

Grief, Burnout and Reclaiming Our Lives

“When something happens to you, you exit the life you used to have.”

– CHRISTINA RASMUSSEN

I get cozy with Christina Rasmussen, acclaimed grief educator and author of Second Firsts and Where Did You Go? Which have been extremely helpful books for my own family as we navigate grief and loss.

We talk about the undercover world of grief, burnout, and reclaiming our lives after experiencing the invisible losses that we often overlook and dismiss.

What you'll hear (and don't want to miss!):

  • The symptoms that can indicate burnout, or not living in alignment
  • The way that Christina has been able to transform her grief and loss into a movement that is healing so many other people
  • What the safe space of the “waiting room” is all about
  • Christina’s re-entry and the ways that she is now transforming her life (and how you can too after invisible losses)
  • Why she is saying no to money and additional opportunities daily, without feeling guilty about it
  • Christina’s best practices and rituals for writing, plus how she stays connected to the creative process
