š my inbox had 7547 unread emails
Soā¦
I was looking at 7,547 emails in my inbox.
Ugh, cāmon Jadah. Again? š«
Well, I have emails that I need to take action on, so of course, I canāt get rid of them.
I have emails Iām waiting for my team to follow up on, so I need those too.
Oh yeah, and that newsletter, would love to read my biz bestie Jen Kemās latest THE BRANDCAST. Iāll save that for later when I have time.
And that, is how I was looking at 7,547 emails in my inbox, which felt suffocating and overwhelming.
Can you relate? šš½āāļø
I needed a clean slate, a fresh start, a chance to start from zero, and handle emails in small manageable chunks.
So I declared email bankruptcy.
I do this every couple of months, especially when subscriptions get out of hand.
I have not lost important emails, and Iāve always been able to search whatever I need to find.
Hereās how I did it (and you can do it, too!)
Honor where you are. Give yourself permission to acknowledge that your inbox has become overwhelming. It's okay to recognize that you simply can't keep up with the volume of emails right now. This is your opportunity to release the weight of the past and start fresh.
Step 1: Select all emails that are in your inbox
Step 2. Select archive all
Step 3. Breatheā¦ you have an empty inbox
And thatās it! Let me know if you decide to declare email bankruptcy.
Thereās something so satisfying in seeing that āno mailā message with all that blank whiteā¦
S P A C E
Itās like a big exhale.
Ever feel like you need a fresh start in your business?Ā Craving the space and structure you need to align your intentions with your actions?Ā
Just like clearing your inbox creates space for new energy and opportunities, so does reconnecting to your goals.
Warm hugs,
