🌅 A sunrise ceremony before the holiday begins

A sunrise ceremony before the holiday begins

Tomorrow morning, before the rest of the city wakes up, George, Zoe, and I will bundle up in the dark and take the early ferry to Alcatraz for the Indigenous Peoples Sunrise Ceremony.

Every year, hundreds of Indigenous people and non-Native allies gather on the island for this ceremony, organized by the International Indian Treaty Council.

It’s a moment of remembrance and activism.

There is something sacred about pausing in the presence of history and resilience.

We are choosing to stand together, acknowledge the original stewards of this land, and honor the stories that shape the world we move through.

Being in the presence of that history invites a quiet humility, remembrance, and gratitude that reaches far deeper than any holiday ritual.

It reminds me that reflection is not a luxury. It’s honoring those who came before us, the land beneath our feet, and the lives we are living right now.

It’s a way of tending to our humanity, not ignoring the heartbreak, and also celebrating what is still growing and alive in us.

As we move into the final stretch of the year, I want to offer you a space to gather and reflect before the swirl of the new year begins.

A quiet moment to breathe.
A space to honor what this year asked of you.
A pause before planning and rushing into the next thing.

I'm hosting a 90-minute online retreat, the She Builds End-of-Year Reflection Retreat. It will be a gathering for women and gender-expansive entrepreneurs who want to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and digest what unfolded this year.

We will reflect, honor your wins, and look at your business with clarity and compassion. We will create space for what wants to emerge.

If your body has been craving a moment of quiet reflection before the new year, I would love to have you with us.

As we enter this season of gratitude, I am holding deep appreciation for the work you do in the world and the heart you bring to your business.

Thank you for being part of this community and for choosing a more intentional path. My wish is that this season brings more moments of nourishment and true rest.

Warm hugs,
